Property grills are located down the green area with picnic tables going down toward the second pool and Guadalupe River access.

-Sitting on the relaxing bank of the Guadalupe River you can get a 20-minute float in by walking 5 minutes over to River Acres Parks off of the Common Street Bridge, get in, and float down to the private Water Wheel Resort riverbank (make sure you’re wearing the property specific wristband!) and repeat for free all day long!
-Take advantage of the beautiful green area on property, bring some lawn chairs to sit and have a day on the riverbank with the convenience of staying on property for lunch and bathroom breaks.
-A quick 10-minute walk to the Schlitterbahn East -Blastenhoff entrance! Pack your cooler, and sunscreen, and don't have to deal with finding a parking spot!
- Walk with your tubes and cooler for about 15 minutes to Prince Solms Park/Hinman Island Park for public access to the Comal River and Tube Chute, jump in and float down to the last public exit (corner of S Union and Lincoln St) About a 2 hour float! Walk back to Water Wheel about 15 minutes!
--Take a brisk 20 minute walk to nearby restaurants or stroll further into downtown New Braunfels to enjoy more local restaurants, bars and breweries, shop in our quaint boutiques, and get strudel in the oldest bakery in Texas, Naegelin's Bakery!
- If you want to float a long portion of the Guadalupe River, we advise you to drive to Rockin R to rent THEIR tubes and use their shuttle service.
-And, Gruene, Texas with the world-famous Gruene Hall and delicious restaurants such as Gruene River Grill and The Gristmill are only a 10-minute drive away!

Places we recommend that are within a 10-20 minute walk to and from the complex:
Restaurants: Pats Place, Tin Top Burgers, Union Street Station, Muck & Fuss, New Braunfels Coffee, The Mess Around, Naegelin's Bakery, Bootlegger Pizza, Krause’s Café, McAdoos Seafood, Myrons Prime Steakhouse.
Bars/Night Life: The Oyster Bar, Calahans Pub & Pizza, Black Whale Pub, Moonshine & Ale, Phoenix Saloon, Scores Sports Bar, The Pour Haus, Downtown Social.

Everyone in party must be 25 or older to book. Renter's ID and Credit Card must be presented to receive check-in information.
Occupancy is not to be exceeded at any time. No daytime guests are allowed. Pet-friendly unit with additional fees.

Wristbands and Parking Passes are enforced at this property.
Each condo will receive wristbands per maximum occupancy, which must be worn at all times while on property and 2 parking passes. Renters are guaranteed 1 marked parking spot close to the front door of the condo while second-vehicle parking is available on a first-come, first-served basis anywhere unmarked on property. Overflow parking is first-come, first-served on Mather St. running parallel to the condo complex.

Security guards are enforced on premises to ensure only guests of Water Wheel are using the grounds are parking in correct parking spaces.

  The location of the complex is convenient, easy walk to Schlitterbahn , and has river access. The unit was nicely furnished with comfortable furniture with plenty of space for our family of four. The location our exact unit was closest to road and farthest from river. We could not use the WiFi or TV for first 24 hours due to a router issue. It was fixed midday the second day of our stay. There was a bright hallway light outside primary bedroom that was unable to be turned off from our unit. Very limited counter space in both bathrooms. Unit was very clean upon arrival.

  We loved our weekend getaway!
  This was our first time staying at Waterwheel and we took advantage of everything it had to offer.
  The apartment was in mint condition, you can tell it's very well maintained.
  We enjoyed spending time at both pools and in the river! It was so nice to be able to walk right down to the river. Enjoyed the bbq pits and picnic tables. Also saw lots of deer!

  This property was very clean and everything in the unit worked as expected. We have spent quite a few winters in New Braunfels and we always enjoy the Grist Mill, The Gruene Door, the shopping at Creekside as well as the fast food there plus The Longhorn Steakhouse. The winter Texans at Water Wheel have a weekly gathering poolside so people can get acquainted. We had a good time.
